ok this is a really funny story. one night i was have a party in my basement w/o my parents knowing. some friends wanted a ride home so i said i would. i park my car on a fairly steep driveway near my parnets bedroom window. idecided i would not start my car( risk waking them up) but instead just shif the car in to neutral and roll down the driveway, then start it in the street( away from my parents window). well ishifted into neutral but then realized my brakes and steering wheel wouldnt work!!! i ended up running into my basketball hoop, knocking it over. me nad my friends put the hoop back up, there was damage to the hoop but not my car, i gave my friends a ride home and when i got back my parents never even woke up!!! should of just started it by there window i guess. well anyways my friends accused me of being drunk and not knowing how to drive, but i told them i could steer or use the brakes. so if u dont start ur car is it true that ur steering and brakes wont work?

Your grammer is perfect. Your problem is your brain. Why dont you go out to the car and try shifting from park to neutral Duh? This is tricky though, you have to be sober. Good luck!

Well if you didn't even turn the key to the on position, the steering wheel will still be locked in place. If you did happen to turn the key to the on position, with no engine running you will have no power steering or power brakes. This will make the car fairly difficult to turn, and it won't stop really well either.

Don't drive drunk either... even short distances. And certainly not with a bunch of your friends, it's just not safe man.

Yes, but not a safe practise if you are on an steep incline.
Engage parking brake.
Turn the key until the instrument panel lights up.
Depress the brake pedal. Click the shifter into neutral. Slowly release the parking brake [not all the way] Use the parking brake to stop. Place shifter in Park.

i was towing a car one time and had the gear shifter in nuetral. took it off my tow dolly and completely fogot i had the steering rigged with rope to the brake pedal.no steering or brake.you can in some cars(not all) move the shifter to nuetral without starting it.the brakes would still work just wouldnt be very good as they are power and need the motor running to make them work well.steering if you did get it out of gear the steering may still have been locked and thus the failure.

You have power assisted brakes/steering, so with car off they are very stiff. your steering wheel is locked until you turn your ignition on. Now a days you can't shift out of park until the Key is on and foot on brake.

all those solutions are lovable.. It relies upon on the place you park! in case you park on a hill with the front pointing up hill place it in first only in case the e-brake fails the kit will carry the automobile retaining it from rolling backwards.. in case you park on a hill the place the front of the automobile is dealing with down positioned it in opposite comparable theory brake fails a kit to hold it.. in case you're in an honest spot parking or an point floor leave it in impartial.. I park on a flatcontinual way and leave it in impartial. putting it into kit is one extra fail secure.. the e-brake or parking brake is often a small little bit of pad that purely holds one wheel and over the years it could loosen and not carry it ought to smash or it ought to purely no longer work together completely using age.
