They DON'T hate the USA, they HATE the Bush administration.
An example is Bush in South America....look at the crowds showing up protesting him.

If they really hate us then their priorities are very whacked. US provides it's citizens with basic civil rights that everyone should have. We also live side by side with people of all diff ethnicities, religions and beliefs in pretty much peace and harmony, which other nations seem to have issues with. We have opened up markets and support several economies of diff cities and even countries around the world as well. The US has also helped free over a billion people over the course of its existance.
If the rest of the world was modeled after the US the world would not be such a bad place. There is always room for improvement, but there is a reason people risk their lives and give up everything to come to the US.

It's not that simple in my opinion. First off I would look at our own house. The French might ask us the same question. The Iraqis would probably ask us that question too. Second off generalizing the opinions of 6 billion ppl in 190+ countries is an arrogant assumption either way in my opinion. Third, as for my personal beliefs, I think most people in the world are too concerned with personal affairs to have time to hate a country. As far as funinthesunnn1's comments that the world be modeled after us, that works all ways, one could say the world would be better if all countries were modeled after switzerland, which by the way, has been conflict free for over 100 years.

Some do hate the USA because they're not an American. It is jealousy, that their country isn't as strong as we are, or the superpower in the world. But, when they ask for our help AGAIN to fight in their wars, I won't be surprised. It's not uncommon for them to. WWI, WWII, Vietnam (asked by the S. Vietnamese), Korea (we were asked by the S. Koreans), the Falkland war (we were asked by the English, but Ronald Reagan turned them down). We asked the world to help us in the war on terror. How many countries can you count who are helping USA? I can count 2. England, and Canada, militarily. USA had to practically beg Japan to give some money in support of the 1st Gulf War, yet they want us to buy their cars, and make it hard for American business men and women to sell American products in Japan. I think most of the world's countries suck, and they owe us their very lives, if they won't give respect, and remember the sacrifices our people have given to them. America has always fought for freedom, even if it isn't for ourselves, or our own people. If the rest of the world doesn't care about that, then they can go down in the depths of the sea, and it won't make any difference to me.

The world doesn't hate the US but more our policies and foreign affairs. Most of these nations talk about how try to control the world but dont mention the billions we spend in aid to countries each year.
This can be brought back to the "Have and Have nots" The have nots tend to dislike the haves and eventually try to take from the haves. This is pretty simplistic answer but it fits for the situation.

Because of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and Bush's Cabinet, the world Hates Americans, period!!!!!!! They'll love it if Obama gets in because he'll complete the turnover of the USA to Mexico and other foreign governments.
We need a Loyal American Citizen to run for President who can put the world nicely in its place while making us the great nation we once were. I could do it and would do it but I don't like campaigning. I suppose if you wanted someone who wasn't afraid to stand up and be counted, you could write me in but you'd have to find me first.

Neither, the leaders of other countries hate us because they are jealous. A few of their followers listen to their leaders and they hate us but the people don't seem to have a problem with us. Funny thing how the liberal media wants you to think they all hate us eh?

I think they are unhappy we ended the corrupt oil for food program which was benefiting countries that were supposed to be participating an embargo of Iraq. They don't like the fact that we understand the limits of diplomacy. They don't like that we have such economic power, and aren't afraid to back up what we say.

The majority of nations hate the US because of its foreign policies around the globe. Its sad because the average Joe Blow has no idea what is being done around the world in the name of US policy, we get labled unfairly whether we agree with our policies or not.

the hate,,, is for Bush and his right wing doctrine,,, not for the American people per say,,, when our King George want-a-bee,, gets his comeuppance,,, the USA will be admired and respected once again,, but this will take awhile,,, after all Mr. Bush has created a lot of horror,,, much like his nemesis Saddam Hussein,,,,
