vaseline is only flamable as a liquid, as is every other flamable substance. you have to heat the vaseline to an extent where it is throwing of fumes, then the fumes will light. this is a common miconception. the when a liquid burns, its not the actual liquid, it is the fumes above the liquid that burn.

Vaseline is extremely flammable,it has a low flash point (hard to ignite),but once burning it is very hot and sticks,very difficult to put out.The American Armed Forces use a very similar product but they call it Napalm.

Vaseline is made of petroleum jelly. I shouldn't go into all the details, but generally anything with the word PETROLEUM is flammable. So, yes, it is.
