Yes you can! I remember when i am applying for a job here, there was a question that ask me if i commited any crime or whatsoever. Benefit of the doubt is not related here. Its your company's sake that you must prioritize. You don't have to wait for another arson to happen before you move right?! Prevention is better than cure sir. Nobody can blame you.

You mean he committed arson at his place of work? Have you notified the police and fire departments? That is the first thing to do, and then fire him. He may also be liable for civil damages.

Oh dear! Sorry to hear that. Yes I believe you can sack the employee without warning as he/she has commited an act of gross misconduct and may also have breached the Health and Safety at Work act. Good luck and happy employee hunting...

ha ha.. it's funny u should say that... when i was little i used to think that firing someone meant that u literally 'fire' them.. as in put them through fire or something... and so i was always scared that my dad wud get fired!
