If you can tell me how it's done I'll choose your answer as best and you'll score a few points. I've already tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the Negative clamp from its respective Negative battery terminal; the light still comes on. What do I try next? The car runs well, btw.

I think your down the right path, when you remove the neg. terminal from the battery, leave it off and tap the brake pedal a few time so you remove any remaining electricity. then reconnect the negative cable. good luck..

Just take it to Auto Zone or a place where they run a car diagnostic for free. At least you can see what is wrong with your car. If it is an O2 sensor, then it will affect your gas mileage but nothing major to worry about. To turn off the light you either have to take the bulb out or fix the problem. After you fix the problem you could reset the light, like disconnecting the battery. but otherwise you are stuck. You can check below for any help, which will not be much on this particular problem.

Get a Haynes Repair Manual at the local Auto Zone or auto parts store in your area. It will troubleshoot and show you how to fix your vehicle. Also on the Auto Zone site has a section for vehicle maintenance

You should be getting it hooked up to a scanner to find out why the light is on first of all. Most good parts stores have them to borrow so you can see whats wrong. If the car still runs good its probably something minor like a o2 sensor, you can also usually reset the light with the scanner while its hooked up.Good luck
