I didn't know you could get in the mood to study? You just have to do it. Turn off all distractions TV & phone. Turn on some quiet music and get going.

In our high school they let the kids bring in their mp3 and Ipods and listen to music while doing their work and it seem to be helping. They have to turn them off if the teacher is talking. They just started this at the beginning of the school year. Maybe they're onto something.

Pick up a thread in what you are learning. Then follow it, follow it until you appreciate why the person who wrote the textbook or book wrote about that subject.
Investigating a kind of boring subject or question sometimes turns into the kind of learning experience that helps you rise above the boring way it was presented.
Get some momentum going. When that happens, you really don't want to break the rhythm of study and you actually work longer, playing closer attention!

Remember that if you study and do well during school period you will have a great job...better yet you will be doing what you studied for....no crappy jobs!!! Make your life easier by gettting hired and your resume looks better than the rest!!! (also because of your better education). You'll get better income....Soooo look at all you get with just studying a few years..you can do it...you will regret it when you are older when you are to tired and too lazy to study and wished you wouldve just pulled through it when you got all the energy. All you need to decide is what you want and go for it....Go to the library where they have the closed cubicles and no distractions, this was the only way for me to study because at home I used to get up every 5 minutes and couldnt stop eating, walking or talking..just excuses

The best thing is to use conditional learning. You need to set your environment so that you are comfortable when learning and then set the same thing every time you need to study.
The next thing to do is pick a time of the day to study and study every day at the same hour.
Then you need an association with study. Pick something to drink and only drink that when you study, for example.
So let's say you study every day at 10 am, at the same desk drinking Pepsi. You do that for a few weeks then it becomes a mechanism and you won't think about the fact that you have to study, you'll just do it.

Go out and run around till you feel tired. Come home have a shower to invigorate you. Then settle down in a well ventilated room with comfortable temperature. Try studying at first just reading through the less heavy stuff. Good luck

I do a little bit of yoga on my carpet before studying, then I am calm and my brain is more focused. If I start to daydream while trying to work I take 10 minutes for more yoga.
Works like a charm. :)

Really, the only thing that got me in the mood to study was interesting content. Something that was interesting to me. If I found a specific class lacking in interest, it was hard to focus.
