Jessica Alba once told a magazine that she was "proud of her curvy figure" and wanted to prove that skinny is not always sexy. I am sorry, but if Jessica Alba is considered curvy, then everyone else must be obsese. It just shows the media's skewed definitions of what is skinny, curvy, and fat. For them, curvy means being a size 2. To me, being curvy is being healthy and not stick thin. It only becomes fat when it is a threat to their health.

my idea of curves on a woman is one who has the typical hourglass figure. Marilyn Monroe, Beyonce, Kelly Brook, Jlo and even the cartoon character Jessica Rabbit are great examples.
I think the media have started the throw the word at anyone who doesn't have the stereotypical slim 'Hollywood' figure whether or not they are actually curvy.
The word also tend to use it in a polite way when referring to overweight women.
There are very few famous women with a real natural curvy figure. I dont class someone with massive breasts as curvy.
I think when a woman who has an hourglass figure and has put weight on so she starts to become chubby, shes still curvy, but when she starts to become overweight, and the fat is starting to kind of 'hide' the curves she's then overweight as oppose to curvy.
When a naturally slim woman with just your average run of the mill figure puts weight on, its not the same she goes from slim - chubby - overweight. no curves involved, this is where people get confused. Fat does not great womanly curves, it greats fatty lumps & bumps!

its very hard to answer this question as every body is built completely different!!! if you are really tall eg 6ft and a uk size 16 then you will probably look great, but if your only 5ft and a size uk16 the chances are you will look and be over weight!!!
I think what ever size is healthy for your body type, is the best size to be. Maybe find out what your body mass index is to know what your HEALTHY weight is not just what looks good!!!
as for being curvy, i think only people who have natural curves as in a small waist in comparison to your hip/chest measurements should be considered this term e.g Marilyn Monroe.
people who are more or less straight up and down Will always be that way if they are a size eight or a size 20!!! if you have narrow hips you have narrow hips. Unless they have a boob job to give the illusion of curves.

Most so called curvy celebrities are lucky to be a size 10! I really think it depends on the individual - a size 18 person in proportion could look ok. I think as long as someone is toned and not flabby they would probably be considered curvy.

I think that curvy is when you are a size whatever and still have a waist.
this doesn't matter if you are a 10 or 12 or over as it depends on your height and body type
Fat is when there is no waist shape at all and everything is moulded into a barrel shape.
When you see celebs in the magazines and they go look how much they have lost or put on it makes me laugh as they look the same to me.
As long as people are healthy then it shouldn't mater what size you are .

I really hate how the word 'curvy' is now used to describe everyone from a UK size 8 upwards.
In this week I've heard both Louise Redknapp (size 8) and Vanessa Feltz (size lordknowswhat) being referred to as 'curvy'.
For me personally curvy starts at UK 10 and finishes at UK 14, under that is skinny, over that is fat - but that's just my own opinion.
