Oh, God, another stupid "who's the best"... OK, slick - Chuck Berry has had the longest career so far, so he has probably played more notes than all others, and I hereby proclaim that the number of notes played defines the "best."
If you have a better criterion, let's see it. I'll give you another: number of notes per minute. In that, I'll guess Joe Satriani.
