Im 37 weeks today, and I am having a lot of pressure "down there". It almost feels like something is going to fall out. Usually, when I sit down in a chair, it goes away, but now its just constant, whether I'm standing or sitting. It really hurts/stings. What can this be? Has anyone else had this, and what were you told it was? I was told at my last dr's appt that I was 60% effaced, and just over a cm dialated...and last night I had really bad back pains. Im not worried about going into labor soon, b/c I know that can take forever, especially with the first baby. I just want to hear what this might be. Thanks so much.

i am having the same exact pains and the doctor said that i am uncomfortable because the baby is now deeper in the pelvis. the pain between your legs is his head resting on the pelvic floor. it causes "down there" to be irritated and it can sometimes feel like a sharp shooting pain. and the pain in your hips is probably him sitting on a nerve and when he or you move a certain way, you get that pain. i am also 37 1/2 weeks and i was worried. it is nothing major to worry about, just him getting ready for the big day. good luck and congratulations!

its your body preparing for labor/birth. When I was pregnant with twins I had the same pain for about 3 days and then the daythat I had them the pain was unbearable. To walk was hard without extreme pain and pressure. My Dr said when you feel pressure and lower back pain that is the start of labor. Congrat on your baby coming into the world. Just try to relax and let nature take its course. just when you feel that pain breathe in and slowly breathe out. That helped me alot

Just call your OB, your baby may have dropped or you might be in pre-labor, as the above poster said there might be an infection to take care of.
Good luck and happy delivery/birthday!

Those are the classic signs of labor. You need to call your doc now...Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy.Plus just because your water has broken doesn't mean a thing. They had to break my water. So don't be fooled just because it hasn't happen.I'm telling u that u have all the signs of labor.

You're a cm dilated? Both times, it took me hours of contractions to get that far...

Make sure your arrangements for labour are all in order, as you sound like you may be quick. Then just go on amusing yourself at your computer until it's time to go. The best of luck.

You might be in labor. Call your Dr. to let them know. Did you execisersize? With my first one, I wasn't in labor long at all. I live in the city so I walked everwhere.

Call your OB. You may have a bladder infection that needs to be treated. The nurse on call should be able to address your concerns. Better to be safe.
