In my opinion, that would be Hank Sr. My grandmother used to play this song over and over when she and my aunt or my grandfather would fight. So, I got to hear it a lot. I didn't hear Elvis's version until earlier this year (and that says something because I love the King!) and it didn't hold the luster for me that Hank's version did. That and with the scene from the Beverly Hillbillies, it cinched it. I adore Hank's version but will listen to Elvis's from time to time. What can I say...Elvis is still my number one guilty pleasure.
