How do you track someone through a cell phone GPS?

Sorry if this violates community guidelines...I just saw it on this movie called "National Treasure"

GPS uses cell towers and/or satellites to find your location. Cell phones with GPS are made so that the police can connect to your phone and see where you are. If someone had the know how they could hook into this system and get your location.

This is illegal, but it's cool. Only someone from the police can tell you the answer.

NO way its illegal. Only police can help on this issue.
