It depends. An early results home pregnancy test (like First Response) may be able to tell if you are pregnant up to 5 days before a missed period, especially if you test with first morning urine. (First morning urine has more of the HCG hormone in it, bc it has had time to build up whlie you were sleeping.) However, if you get a negative on an early results test (even tomorrow) it may still be too early to test. So if you get another negative but not your regular period you should definitely test again. It is not uncommon for women to not get a positive until 7 days after their missed period. Try not to stress, bc that would only delay your period if you aren't pregnant and make things worse! A drs blood test would be positive by now if you want to just take one there. Early on in pregnancy the positive line is sometimes very faint so even after you miss your period it may not be as dark as the other line. Best Wishes!

I took a home pregnancy test (Brand was Answer) 7 days before my period was due and got an accurate positive.
If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

There are new test that claim to be able to predict pregnancy within a few days of a missed period. When I was pregnant just to be safe I waited a couple of days past when my period was expected to arrive and then bought ept certainty (the one that reads "pregnant or not pregnant" I like this test because lines are sometimes dont come in clear. Oh and also try to do it first thing in the morning. I've heard the first "pee" of the morning is the most potent and has more of the pregnancy hormone. Good luck I hope you get the results you want

Well try some of the brands such as First Response which state they can be taken a few days before your missed period. I say wait a week following your missed period and take a at home pregnancy test. No matter what the result, see your doctor if you expect you are pregnant, Good Luck!

It also depends on the brand of pregnancy test you took. Some say that they can detect the pregnancy hormone up to 5 days BEFORE your missed period. But, depending on your body, you may not be producing large amounts of the hcg hormone. Good rule of thumb is to wait until the first day of your missed period. But, if you do suspect pregnancy, a trip to the gyno could clear it up.

i would say wait until your missed period just for an accurate result or you can get a first response test that will tell you 5 days before your missed period when you do take it use your first morning urine and get a pack with 2 test in case you think you have tested to early

Some tests are very sensitive and should be able to tell now if you really are. Since you are having symptoms that could be related to pregnancy, if I were you, I'd take another. If it's negative and your period doesn't arrive on time, go see your doctor because there are other ways to tell.

Try waiting until you missed your period but if you can't use first response and take one atleast every 2 days until your missed period, thats what I do, it's not necessary but makes me feel better since I just can't wait those 2 weeks, it's an eternity for me!!
