We have some cool things, like 1 high def tv, 3 DVR's, a laptop and 2 desktop computers, MOTO KRZR cell phones, 4 seperate phone lines, 5 cell phones, 6 ipods total (i hav 3) but we dont go on too many vacations and they OFTEN talk about how everything is so expensive and how they need more money. They also joke about how everything should be cheap and shirts should be 2 dollars. And whenever i want to buy sumthing, they say no and that it is too expensive and that we really need money. Are they kinda wealthy and just are obsessed w/ saving money and are amazed at the cost of living. I know for a fact that they (combined) make over 100K, maybe 105K, 110K. Are they rich?

Sounds more like you are obsessed with money then you should be. First you have too many things! What do you truly need THREE iPods for? You want money get a job. You think 100K is a lot? I make that and we have NO iPods. WE only have THREE cell phones and ONE phone line. WE have not been on a vacation because my kids were young. This year is the first time we have been on vacation. We save our money because one day we will want to retire and play. Things today are too expensive, but you need to realize being obsessed with money is unhealthy. We have all kinds of things and I ddo not consider myself rich we are comfortable, and one day I will stop working 60 hour weeks and traveling all over the US. I will teach part time to stupid college kids who think they want to do what I do.
Grow up GET A JOB! PAY YOUR OWN WAY!! Then your outlook will change. Life is expensive and kids are even more expensive. If kids were stock NO ONE would buy!!!!!

Unfortunately, not even close. Your parents would probably love to give you more than they do, but $100K these days does not go as far as you'd think. If you have 3 ipods, I'd say they're pretty generous. Be thankful for what you have and let your parents know how thankful you are when they give you what you need. When they splurge, do the happy dance:)

Look at their income tax receipt, find out how much your mortgage is, and how much their utilities and taxes are. A lot of people who make a lot of money find their money sucked out by taxes and unnecessary niceties (extra car, big house) which can be justified as necessary. Some people are just cheap about certain things. My mother will buy rare books, but will shop for clothing second hand, it depends on your priorities. My parents make about $27,000 CDN and we are not rich but never want for anything. It depends

No. That's how much people make nowadays average for two people working. I have more electronics than you and I am definitely not rich. People spend money on different things. I know people who would spend $200.00 on clams for dinner and do not even have a TV.

nope. you really need to be asking your parents to sit you down and show you how much money there is, and how its managed. my 11 year old knows this about our family already. its imperative that you see how what you think sounds like a lot of money, really isnt in the end. you need to know this for your own future. ask them, im sure theyll understand that you need to see the big picture. i cant believe theyve never taught you this. whatever you do, dont act like the stupid poor girl who goes and tells all her friends that shes rich, and how much her family makes. thats the biggest red flag of trash out there. zip your lip.

You know they are well off, so why does it matter if you are rich or not? Making that much money, of course you are going to have no problem affording all of the assentials. It's good your parents save their money.
