Well, its left Africa underdeveloped resulting in more loss of life, because the global warming theorists only want them to use solar and wind power. Why can't they use their coal and oil? The rich oppressing the poor again, not only in Africa, but in industrialized countries. For instance, industrialization allows products only the rich could afford, available to everyone, but global warming attacks industry, so when industry is gone, so is the middle class. So, why are people allowing the rich to oppress the poor again?

In the marketplace, societies that embrace new technologies usually overtake the ones, who maintain a grips on old ways doing things until obsolesce shows up. So if the Africans can successfully incorporate solar and wind power to fuel energy demands than they will be ahead of the curve. They have no future fuel costs and no industrial pollution side effects. When technology improve efficiency standards of solar power collection, which is inevitable then they gain the advantage of over industrial nations that are slow to move. It’s been proven throughout history. You should scrutinize anyone who preaching not to embrace the future...they are holding you back.

Global warming has only just begun to cause damage, by beginning to melt the polar ice caps.

The worse damage will come over time, if we don't act to stop it now.

It's in Africa's best interest -- for a lot of reasons -- to develop environmentally friendly energy.

Civilized industrialized countries (that is, those industrialized countries that are also civilized -- which leaves out the U.S.) are acting to reduce their contribution to global warming (have already done some, by banning ozone-depleting substances, which were also contributing to global warming).

Yes, it feels hypocritical to say "we've got ours, but you can't have yours" -- but the world cannot afford to continue on that path.

When we started relying heavily on fossil fuels, we didn't know the consequences would be so harsh.

And the people who profit from fossil fuels control our government.

The entire world needs to invest in developing sources of energy that won't mess up the planet.

That's just how it is.

if you are an American, the best way to help that situation is to fix our problems here at home.

left and right infighting
government waste(to large a subject to break down here)
lobbyist influence
this list is huge, but these things are fixable as provided by the constitution. fix them correctly--and we are talking about a budget surplus of unimaginable size, that could go to some real global improvments.

my little opinion of a great angle to approach it from.

and i wonder why these things don't pissss more people off?
