Well that wouldn't be the right thing to do, because that person did take the time out to answer your question and just say the answer were right for you but had some wrong spelling in it, it's lots of reason why people may misspell one is maybe they can't, maybe they didn't go to spell check, are maybe they were trying to get there answer in first, just give the thumbs up to the best answer and that will make you the better person.. Gosh hope i didn't misspell anything lol.........oh and one other thing even if you go to spell check they some times spell it wrong also.

no because sometimes I misspell because I type fast. I think thumbs downs should be used for rude ignorant answers. or if you ask a direct question and people give some totally different answer. some people give thumbs downs when they ask an opinion and yours does not agree with theirs. how fair is that? I thumbs up almost all my answerer's as long as they answered the question as given. if smart Alec's or something I may thumbs down. mostly I just ignore. I hate thumbs down:) I especially dislike it when people do it on questions I asked. I would rather encourage than make someone feel discouraged. I did not agree with you on this but I still gave you a star. I do that to all reasonable questions whether I agree or not

Not "automatically" because I place a high value on the thumbs up - down aspect. I give thumbs-ups liberally but really think before putting a thumbs down because I put thought into my answers (most of the time) and don't like it when I get a thumbs down and it kinda hurts. But YES I hate the misspellings and abbreviations and kid-lingo. If they're really atrocious I'll give a thumbs down. Ok didn't mean to write a book here..

I do not even think about doing it. Many of the users of this service are either very young or have not had the benefits of a half-way decent education as I and the questioner. Yet they are reaching out for new knowledge despite their literary deficiencies. I applaud such people with inquiring minds seeking knowledge (of any sort) with determination - and I simply will not do anything to discourage them or set them back. Making a mock of their spelling would do just that.

No I don't, I only give a thumbs down if it's a disrespectful answer or just flat out wrong. I found out that giving someone the thumbs down actually takes points away from them, so I'm not trying to do that unless they really deserve it.

I don't give thumbs down. If it wasn't for check spelling, I would probably have more thumbs down, as far as other peoples comments, they are entitled to them, I think.

No, I just gently re-word their question in my answer with the correct spelling and grammar. Ooops, I mis-read your question, yes I kinda do skip over answers with poor grammar or spelling.

Depends on how bad that spelling is. It's it's just an honest mistake, nah. But if it's that really annoying colloquial Internet jargin for practically every word, maybe just so I don't have to look at it.

No, I barely ever give someone a thumbs up or down. I would rather spend my time answering questions...

don't be so mean.. yes i agree incorrect spelling is annoying, but the person may be new to the language, and spellings are easy to make on a keyboard, also dyslexia is a common problem for people. i'm sure you have faults too.
