How are the rhinestones actually fastened to the material? What kind of mark does it leave on the inside of the garment?

They put a silver metallic backing on the reverse side of the material so it clasps through the material kinda like a stapler.

Behind the rhinestones are little prongs. That when you press down it stabs into your fabric and bend the prongs down. That way it stays. I have a Gemagic. Cost me $30 bucks when I bought it. I only used it like 2 and all my rhinestones ran out. They say you get 300 rhinesones/studs but trust me, one thing you make takes like half of them. So then you have to buy refils and all that. But if you are going to buy one get a Gemagic. They have it at Walmart for like $19 bucks now. Plus it has a Mini Magic. A small one for hard to reach places. ^_^
