I think it's a million times better to instead of applying make up here and there, instead of wasting time perming our hair, we should work on our souls, on how cultured we are, on our way of seeing the world, how we help how we create..
I'm a 15 year old girl that adores nature, to write, and philosophy. I don't wear any make up, as I believe natural beauty is the most beautiful of all.
Do you agree?.

Questions like these remind me of Dilberts Pointy Haired Boss. When asked and either or type question, he responds "Lets do both!"

Yet these should not be and either or type question. We should work to improve ourselves, to learn, to be a better person. And improving our sense or well being and saving our soul is critical to being a good person.

But when can still look good too! Spending some time on your hair an make up and choosing stylish clothes can complement your overall being.

Its only when you obsess over your looks that I think it becomes a problem.

So I guess I agree with Dilbert's PHB today and say "Lets do both!"

i imagine area of the basis of the answer is contained in the expertise of the body. Keats reported that "reality is beauty and ask your self reality," which does no longer look to split the interior and the outer kinds of beauty, quite than unites them in a unmarried grand experience unified with reality. in this sense of the theory of beauty, there is not any inner and outer. some could argue that that is unquestionably inner beauty that Keats is talking about, because it truly is Platonic or possessing such subtlety that the grossness of the body and relative, temporal kinds can't even come on the fringe of it -- it truly is a non secular beauty. If that is taken a step added, then what the body reports is inconsequential and in no way pertains to the better or deeper soul. area of what makes this genuine is that the body is born, lives for some time, and dies. that is the regulation of karma, yet why no longer end our lives before (dedicate suicide)? the reason being that we particularly do love ourselves and evaluate some ingredient worth residing for. That ingredient is the interior beauty, which does no longer die. That ingredient (you may only call it the soul), advantages each threat and war to be confirmed, shown, and witnessed, through as many existence circumstances as accessible as a way to attempt to come back in route of the transcendent theory of beauty. this theory of beauty will continuously be "inner" or "deeper" or "on the point of the soul," because it isn't defined by technique of the death of the body, while the body's beauty is continuously familiar to end at death. This very last sentence is, i imagine, the answer for your question.

I'm 15 too, well, I will be in 4 days. And I agree, most of the time I don't bother with make up, and when I do, I pretty much just put some lip gloss and eye shadow on. And all I really do to my hair is wash it and brush it. People keep telling me I'm beautiful anyway. Insteed, I work on my relationship with God, and with other people.
Because outside beauty fades overtime, but a beautiful soul is cherished forever.

I find many people who have the gift of natural beauty are often conceited pain in the Butt snobs. They have very little Inner Beauty to see, that is, if they allow you to get to know them! Of course this is not grouping them all into one Basket there are some that appreciate this gift. We are all too focused on the outside and forget that beautiful people are everywhere if we bother to look beyond the obvious. I was considered very good looking in my younger years but found the pressure of society to look better made me not appreciate what God had given me. I would tell your daughter that regardless of what others see as Beauty just to love herself, because without this she cannot love others or be truly be loved herself. Beauty is in the heart and soul and that cannot be seen on the outside. Cheers

I understand what your saying 100%, but, either way hair and make up has nothing to do with anything. All people should work on inner beauty regardless what they look like. And just because someone is ugly doesn't mean that their nicer than the pretty person. I like to be around people who take care of themselves inside and out. This has nothing to do with me personally, I don't wear any make up on my face at all, I wear only eyeliner and lipstick and it takes me two minutes to put it on. I know lots of women who are beautiful inside and out and I also know women who don't take care of themselves out side and some have beauty within and some don't.

Yes, you are absoluty right. I do agree with you but it is hard to not try to look pretty on the outside too because of pressure. I get pressure from my mother all the time about having tan-ish legs and arms and being too skinny. I believe in inner beauty but it's hard when people make me feel ugly.

Yes we should work on our souls and become better people but it's not a bad thing to try and look good. You'll be more confident and have more selfesteem which isn't bad. it could help you become a better person. you should try looking nice and then say what u think about it.
But i think perming is a waist of time too.

Yes, I totally agree with you, Ive. The thing is, if a person has inner beauty, it shines outward, and makes that person's appearance also beautiful to look at as well.

I do agree. You can take a very beautiful person and if she is snobby and uppity and too good to talk to "lower class" people, just the way they carry themselves can make them very ugly not only on the inside, but on the outside as well.

Yes, I agree, in a way, I sort of see makeup & haircolor as an insult to God's work, that somehow He didn't make us "good enough"....... but on the other hand, I also think it's possible to be artistic with ourselves, and still work on the soul........ it's all about balance
