i just put my longer lasting jobs or ones that i really learned something or had alot of responsability. i used those little jobs to fill in gaps. if you were employed for a short period around the holidays, say it was seasonal-it was, it was just not agrred to be seasonal in the first place.
Remember, always be honest if they ask. you can loose your job later for false information.

No. If I listed all of my jobs on my resume, it would be several volumes. I only list relevant positions. If interviewers ask about the gaps (and they usually do not), I respond by saying the job was not in my field. Background checks only check the info that you give them, but not the salary. I have walked out of a few jobs, been fired from a few jobs or had a job that is no worth to my resume. I have never been questioned. It's always a good idea to keep a resume with ALL of your job history. You may not need to use it, but you never know.

Job applications ask for honesty and you should list all previous employment as companies routinely do background checks. There are tax records that can be exposed and potential employers would wonder why you were hiding something. The best advice is to have clearly defined answers as to why the employment was so short in duration. Companies seek employee's that are stable and long term contributors. Turnover costs companies money and they seek to reduce it.

Bottom line is honesty is the best employment policy.

No, when I typed my husbands resume I only put the longer lasting jobs. in 2002 he had 4 jobs but I only put down 2.( eg; 2001-2002 Brunswick club 2002-current Hallam Hotel )
I didn't put down the day and month just the yr. He got the job so It must be ok. I hope this helps :-)

I don't do that. I have had too many irrelevant jobs. If the question comes up about the gaps, I just say I was working outside of my field.

Also, it's a good idea to keep a resume with your full employment history. You can include that with the job application if the employer is adamant about it.

I put temp jobs all together in one section. I didn't name each company but I put "working temporary jobs" for the length of time applicable. The interviewer didn't seem to mind. They can ask if they want more info. If they were fairly recent, I might list one or two separately.

You should list the jobs that were significant and/or that might show up in a background check. Working under the table in your brother's contracting business doesn't count. :)
