Why is it now in England that if you smoke you are seen as the antichrist? What gives people the right to come up to us and tell us that we are killing ourselves? If someone went upto one of the mutitude of fat people that are everywhere and said 'hey, don't you know being obese kills?' That is seen as rude but saying the same to smokers is?
It's the same concept, and anyone who will say 'well, being fat doesn't kill others like smokers' think again. How many times have you seen the large family go into McDonalds and eat half the stock? Seven year olds feasting on the big tasty large meal. They are being taught bad nutrition which could end up with them dying at a young age. It's just as bad as smoking yet one is more vilified then the other. Why is this?

To the people who replied being fat doesn't affect other people's health read my question fully there is more at the bottom.
And another way it does is that it takes away money from the NHS. My neighbour had a wheelchair and a bungalow house from the Goverment for being obese. What message is this giving to others?
You're telling me that the NHS doesn't spends thousands of £'s on fat people? It does for smokers, i know, but one is seen as the worst vice, while the other is seen as almost acceptable in todays society.

Well to DBK,
The same could be said about pollution from cars. I don't drive, many do and they are contributing to global warming and damaging others health. I don't call for all cars to be banned though i am sure they are causing more problems to people's health then smoking.
The fat family are passing on the bad influence. Now magazines focus on fat celbrities as points of beauty ( and i'm not saying that is wrong) but before the fatties was the skinnies. And then everyone was up in arms about them, saying they are damaging teenagers health. The same could be said for these fat celbrities, no?

Your reply was unsubstantial and irrelevant.
Good for you, don't expect sympathy when they take you away to a fat camp as a new goverment plot.

I am not heated, i just think it is unfair that smokers are being brought down under the 'it harms other' umbrella, whilst fat people are allowed to roam free under the guise that it doesn't harm anyone other then there selves when it does.
My local MP does not care for my petitons, nor my letters and i have acquiesce to his wish that i not bother him with such 'trivial matters'.
