Yes,but the probability is low.If a woman has a regular cycle(meaning her period starts for example like clock work on the 5 the of every month),then mid month she is ovulating and she will ovulate for a 48 hour period, meaning she can then conceive and get pregnant, but you cannot depend on this in anyway shape or form for birth control because its way to risky.Be responsible and take her to the clinic and discuss birth control and safe sex options with the doctor. This can be done for little or no cost, usually free depending on her income, and is kept confidential. Please be responsible and make the right decisions now so you are not playing russinan roulette with the so called "rhythm method"

Someone has provided the link to baby hopes website. I read it and let me confess before reading that I was sure to answer an emphatic NO! but now I'm also confused as to whether that is possible.

Theoretically, a woman ovulates during the middle of a cycle and the sperms normally can't live that long even in the favourable condition that a uterus provides.

Please make a second check with a qualified Gyn/ Obs even after getting so many ayes for the question. We' re not qualified enough.

If your girlfriend has irregular periods, then it IS possible, but the chances are small. If she's regular, the chances are even smaller.

I understand that if you're in a long-term relationship that you may not want to use condoms all of the time, but you and your girlfriend need to have a serious talk about the best form of birth control so you can take the "Am I/Is sh pregnant" stress out of your relationship. The pill? Shot? Norplant?

If you're in a short-term relationship, condoms are your best friend!! Do you REALLY want to sleep with everyone that SHE'S slept with...and do you really want HER to sleep with everyone that YOU'VE been with?

Yes. There's always a chance her egg will be penetrated by your sperm, regardless her time of the month. Wear a condom if you don't want to be a father. If she's on the pill, that's even better. Abstinence is the only way to be 100% sure she won't get pregnant. Who has the will to do that though?

Yes. My husband and i had sex on the 3rd day of my period and i got pregnant however i miscarried at 5 weeks. So don't believe the myth that you cannot get pregnant (or get someone pregnant) while on your period.

YES, you can get a girl pregnant anytime of the month. Wrap it up or she needs to be on birth control to prevent pregnancy.

It's possible, but are you really ready for fatherhood?

If you're ready to commit to fatherhood, you're ready to commit to marriage.

Don't believe me?

Kids are expensive. They require emotional support beyond what you will be prepared for. They require physical strength AND the ability to not kill your partner.

If you have a solid enough relationship to go ahead and have a kid, why not just get married and get it out of the way?

Also...what about insurance? What about jobs? What about living situation?

Trust me--I had a kid before I was married. It's going to be hell and a half to get nurses and doctors to take YOUR name instead of your girlfriend's because that's the name they will use in the hospital.

Yep, it's not "supposed" to happen but plenty of women get pregnant when they're not "supposed to"... like while on their period, on birth control, supposed to not be able to get pregnant at all... and the story goes on..
