I'm hoping Homer Bailey! As long he stays with the Reds at least!
Go Reds!

This is a very good question on the boards!! I enjoy watching both future stars. I believe Bailey is the formidable choice to shine early. Bailey will pitch in the NL, which is much more comforting to a pitcher. He doesn't have to face a DH here. Plus, the Reds are not the Yankees. I am not a big Yanks fan being in Ohio, but the pressure would be higher on a Phil Hughes. Put them both on a Reds squad, I would pick Hughes ahead of Bailey. If you are measuring talent...Hughes. But you aren't...you are measuring success. I pick Bailey in this case.
Hughes is waiting on the Yankees. The Yankees are still putting their veteran "eggs" into the pitching "basket". They need to overlook this. It is time for Hughes to shine.
The Reds need Bailey and need him now. In the next 2 seasons, look for Bailey to show the most success. By success I mean experience.
If you measure success by championships....Hughes is your pick down the line. This year though....Homer Bailey

If you were to consider that both of these young pitchers have the same quality of attributes...You would have to choose Hughes due to the fact that he will be playing for the more dominant team.
It has been a long time since the Reds have had any dominant pitcher. And now, because of the hittability of the Great American Ballpark that a Reds pitcher becomes dominant is even more remote.

I'm thinking Phil Hughes. The kid is the real deal. His stats at the minor level were great. The innings he's pitched at Spring training just showed that he's still a kid. He'll be up this year no doubt.

Don't know much of PH, but HB plays for my Reds. You'd think I have something good to say now, but I don't. HB will be traded before his prime for a middle reliever and another middle infielder! LOL He'll dominate the league after the Reds dump him though!
