some citations have a website that you can go to to see how much you owe and who to send it to. if you lost the ticket you could try looking up the number for the NJ Department of Transportation i guess and they may be able to help you.

Do nothing. Just be careful driving through NJ so you don't get pulled over again. You may have a warrant for your arrest.

Contact the clerk of the court where the ticket was tried. They will explain what the status of the citation was.
