I have an EXTREMLY important rowing race on wednesday but i KNOW that my period will start then. Having my period then will be extremly difficult as they are always heavy and i will not be fit for the race.
I have some mini pills at home but is it too late to take them now to delay my period? It is now sunday so i only have 3 days if i were to start now.

also, is the mini pill used for any other reasons other than delaying period and for birth control?!

Please help me asap!!!!!

not sure about other reasons, but I know that if you go and see your GP, they have a pill that you can take to delay your period. my friend took it when she was getting married and her period was due that weekend...good luck with the race ;-)

I was under the impression that the mini pill only stopped ovulation in 50% of women.... so i wouldnt count on it stoppin gyour period.... and also if your ovulation has alreadys started there is no stopping it....

the mini pill can be used to lessen pms symptoms and make your period lighter... thats about the only other purposes i can think of

Mini pill wont stop your period but there is a drug you can get from gp that will, trouble is you have to start taking it two weeks b4 your period is due, so it may be too late this time.
Just carry on regardless.

I have been given my era on Christmas eve of '07 and conceived a pair of week or 2 later lol. My husband "hid it" from me as a humorous tale, we had stated infants yet did no longer recognize it might ensue THAT speedy. It replaced into wonderful regardless of the indisputable fact that. appropriate timing i assume, because of the fact if i did no longer get pregnant then i'm undecided i might have stayed off the pill. and then i would not have had my appealing toddler boy. :) i'm off BC now, yet we found out my husband is deploying in September instead of next twelve months so we are praying we're not pregnant back because of the fact i opt for him there for each thing. I even have an appt for BC and to get a being pregnant try next Wednesday. bypass your hands for me! Lol

When I took the mini pill my periods came when they wanted to - no set time - every 10 days then 4weeks -4 days etc. so I don't think it will make any difference.
