My mom thinks that reptiles are creepy cause she has an afobia of snakes. I said to her, "Well can i get a turtle?" and she said maybe. i asked her to go to the pet store today and shes like,"No i dont want to buy any snakes."How do i make her remember that she said that already and i said i now want a turtle in a kind way cause my parents get furious and i mean FURIOUS when i talk back

You need to know something about turtles- their habitats are not cheap.

Sure, you can raise them the stupid 'old fashioned' way that usually kills them after a few months of slow starvation, but to do it right, you need:

A tank big enough to allow the turtle to grow. I recommend a 30-40 gallon to start with, but many turtles will need 120 gallons by maturity. Plastic tubs work great and are cheaper.

Heating, lighting, etc. It is not uncommon to spend $100-200 for just the set up!
