I see others have asked questions in this vein before in reference to the cross-dressing but I was thinking more of all the times he frenched ol' Elmer Fudd. What were the writers thinking? In these more politically-sensitive times they would be accused of pushing the 'homosexual agenda', etc, but clearly no one had a problem with it in the 40's and 50's - the heyday of Warner Bros. cartoons. Funny, huh?

*Sam*
Bugs was not a pet, was clearly an anthropomorphized (look it up) human and Sam clearly didn't like getting kissed on the mouth. I'm not calling it wrong or bad, just weird...

He's a bunny not a person. A lot of people have pets and kiss them regardless of whether they are male or female and vice versa. For your info, what I was saying is that it's not weird because although he was not Elmer Fudd's pet, he still is an animal and animals do not discriminate who they show affection to so you did not have to go beneath yourself with your lame insult. Touchy over a bunny question? I think you should look up the word mature(look it up please for your sake) because you not acting like it.

Well, Bugs WAS voted # 24 on the Retrocrush.com survey of the fifty sexiest toons. I think it was done to emphasize his insanity; that he clearly was ‘BUGS’.

Why else would anybody do that? He was clearly TRYING TO BE OFFENSIVE to Elmer and Yosemite Sam and others whom he may have kissed. He succeeded.

In these (ahem, modern) days, enough practitioners of homosexual acts have applied pressure to the medical profession to remove homosexual desire from the list of recognized mental and emotional disorders. With both the internal voice of mature self-restraint AND the external voice of society silenced, they no longer have any restraint and seem free to pursue any indirectly self-destructive course of action.

If Bugs were to do that today, people would simply assume that Bugs was a practitioner of homosexual acts, and wonder why Elmer objected! They would not recognize his right to refuse a supposedly ‘friendly’ overture it if he did not want to, and would wonder why he reacted so negatively. But there is a cultural blind spot, here.

Men simply have not caught up to women in the area of sexual harassment suits. If a male did that to a female, there would be hell to pay. If a male does that to a male, the instigator should be treated exactly the same as a male who harasses a female. It is only fair, and it is the only fair way to apply the law.

Now dont make me go Balistic here!!!! It's just a cartoon!! There were a lot of cross dressers in cartoons that dont mean they were gay. Bugs Bunny gay no way!! You really need to do your research. This is not a cartoon but what about Milton Berle (know as Uncle Miltie) or do you even know about this tv show????? No body even thought about such stuff as being gay it was all in fun and comedy . Now I will step off my soapbox.

You can't really assume that a cartoon is gay when in fact it is a cartoon and wasn't made to be judged because of its sexual orientation. There's really no proof, back then people had no problem with showing actions that could be indeed sterotyped as homosexual but it wasn't made a big deal.

Bugs Bunny was probably one of the other cartoons or shows that was sterotyped as gay just like Tinkywinky in Teletubbies was probably sterotyped as gay because he carried a purse when he was suppose to be male. It's just one of those facts that you just have to ignore for your children's sake because when you are younger, you don't really understand homosexuality or those accused of it.

i do no longer understand. possibly because of the fact bugs Bunny seems extra like a donkey than an elephant, i think. Whomever your instructor is desires a psychological examine. as properly, i does no longer seem to your answer right here... maximum of them would be biased.
