He grunts and moves his legs up like something is bothering him. He is on Enfamil with iron do you think it could be he's having a hard time digesting it he poops about twice a day. He really does it from 3:30 am until 6:30 am. I cannot get to the doctor until the morning and was told over the phone it will pass which does not seem right to me. He seems pretty miserable most of the time he doesn't cry but he moves around like something is not right. I give him gas drops it helps temporay. What can I do to help him? Should I switch to a soy formula?

Switch to soy!!!! My daughter was extremely gassy and very unhappy until I finally changed it. We lived in a foreign country and I had her on Nestle Good Start but once I switched to the soy she was much happier and her stomach was not tight and she slept better. Try it and at least see! But keep in mind that its not necessary to buy expensive brand named soy formulas, even the generic or store brands have the same ingredients and my daughter took Target Brand Soy with Iron since she was six months old and she is now one year old, drinking cow milk and quite healthy! Best of luck!

Unless there is a medical reason for the iron, all it does really is makes them constipated and over gassy. Try Enfamil without the iron and see if that helps. I'm not exactly sure why the hospitals use that kind...
