What are some earth science and meteorology in the movie Volcano in New York?

If it's anything like most disaster movies, there's probably nothing scientifically realistic about this movie.

For a volcano movie that actually has some reasonably good science in it, try "Dante's Peak". That takes some liberties too, but I'd betcha dollars to doughnuts it's way way better than "Volcano in New York".

BTW, why even bother with that premise? Wasn't it covered sufficiently in "Volcano", which is really just "Volcano in Los Angeles"?
