Because he has the skills of a shooting guard in a forward/center's body. For a guy his size, he can shoot 3's better than half the guards in the league and he has such a fluid shooting motion as well. When he's taking his jumpshots outside, the centers/forwards of the opposing team are reluctant to come out and challenge while the little guards aren't tall enough to put a hand in his face. If they do come out and challenge, he also has above average ball handling skills to drive past them. The past year or 2, he's been working on his post up game which even makes him more of an overall threat. He is ridiculously offensively gifted combined with size and finesse and thats a combination that is rare in the NBA.

He is the complete package. Think about it, he can shoot threes more accurate than most gaurds in the league, he can post up like Shaq, he rebounds, blocks shots, everything. That's why the Mavericks haven't lost ten games yet. Not to mention he is ranked in the top ten in the league in points per game, total points, free throw %, double doubles, total field goals made, defensive rebounds per game, total defensive rebounds, free throws made, and efficiency. I think what makes him so hard to guard is that he shoots above his head and it is really accurate. I'm not even a big fan of Dirk. You really don't have to be to know that he is unstoppable.

Dirk is but he's not great. Dirk is good cause everyone else on his team stepped their game up. People like josh howard and jason terry have elevated their game. Dirk's numbers are still the same and he still doesn't play any D.

LOL @ he blocks. Offensively he is unstoppable. His jumpshot is accurate and he has the height to shoot over opponets. He can take it to the "hole" strong and he can rebound. He lacks in defense though, but overall he is one of the top guys in his position, if not the best.

Dirk sucks big time. He is not good it's his teammates that made him look good. All of his stats are the same from previous yrs. He can't defend or block shots. He shoots off one foot and is skinny as a stick. He sucks.
