dust bunnies are little pieces of dust formed to make a small ball of dust. It is causes by action in the home or whereever, Dust is caused by materials in the home, clothing,furniture, dirt, soot, they all form to gether to make dust bunnies. You can never get rid of them, they keep appearing.

You're no fun! They are collections of dust, hair, carpet fibers and so on all acted upon by the same air currents thereby amassing in the same areas.
Now for my answer (want it or not): At certain temperatures and speeds in your clothes dryer a worm hole opens. A single sock will usually wander too close and Thwwppt! It's gone! But not forgotten, you see the universe requires balance, your sock causes a skew so that in an alternate universe a worm hole opens connected to that space under your couch and Pop! There's your dust bunny.

Dust comes from dander and mold. Dust bunnies are when the dander, mold and dog hair gathers into clumps.
We sometimes have dust poodles, much larger than bunnies.

same place general dust does...accretions of shed hair, skins cells, fabric materials etc.
