i just got some (4) ghost shrimp to keep my little 2.5G Qtank clean (and interesting). when i purchased them, they were obviously full - big colorful full stomachs - but since then they never look like there is that much food in them. i don't think i'm feeding them too little, and i don't want to overfeed on a whim, but is this a sign that they aren't eating enough, or were they just overstuffed at the LFS? so far they have a tank with a little algae growth and a few fish flakes for supplement.

secondary question, but in the same topic:

do i have to quarantine (sp?) ghost shrimp before adding them to a community aquarium? do they have any issues that can pass to my fish?

I love ghost shrimp! They don't always look full, I am sure they're fine as long as there is food going in to the tank every day for them to scavange. I had one that got REAL big. The main time i saw them look "full" is when a female was pregnant. I don't have them now cause I have fancy goldfish in a larger aquarium.

The snail's familiar. The ghost shrimp do come across partitions for foodstuff. upload some greater beneficial air, see if it persists. Corys may well be hyper, offering some seem after now and back helps. Even a small terracotta flowerpot on it particularly is ingredient already helps. A ceramic pleco tunnel is likewise apprieciated or some timber.

They are scavengers (by our standards) and opportunists that will eat whatever comes along. Baby food (like carrots, peas and spinach (in extremely small amounts) makes a good supplement. Strangely enough they also like shrimp but it should be boiled and finely ground and fed in small amounts.
