How were you spanked as a child?

I got spanked over my moms knee. She would either use her hand or a wooden spoon. I was just wondering how everyone else was. Details are appreciated

I absolutely HATED being spanked. My mom/dad would say, "Come here right now!" And I would usually walk away. (Because I knew they were going to spank me) Then they would grab me by the arm and spank me on the butt. It really hurt because my dad had/has big hands. But now I know that when I have kids, I'm not going to spank my child. I'm just going to put them in a time-out or take their toys away for every so often.

I wasnt put over the knee, but I got the wooden spoon, wherever my mom could reach , then when the wooden spoon broke, a metal spoon/ladel was used. My dad just used his hand. Back then that is what people did. Not like today, where kids call the cops on their parents.

On the butt with my mom's hand, but sometimes she used a belt. In our bathroom, my dad's old shaving strap hung on a hook. When we ( kids) were bad, all he had to do was shake that at us and we'd run. My brother used to crawl under the house because he knew Mom couldn't get him there. As much as I recall, these spankings stopped rght before puberty. Then they started taking privileges away. I know many people are against spankings... and for all the right reasons. But none of us kids ( all adults now) were ever in trouble in school or with the law.

I think it's slightly sick how you want to hear about other peoples pain... either way... i was only spanked a few times.

Once or twice over the knee and once while i was running up the stairs. My parents just used their hand... It wasn't so traumatising for me... it was more embarrasing for me than actually hurtful. I was pretty scared of my parents as a child. That was pretty much the only thing that kept me out of trouble.

Depends on what age range you are talking about,when we were young(myself and my brothers and sisters) were spanked over dads knee bare bottomed with his hand,there were a few times I got it with the belt at a later age over my underwear and a couple of my brothers had a switch used on them.Mom didnt spank us.I think the latest age any of us got it was 16.

I got spanked by my step mom when I was little but she would just spank me when I was standing up with her hand. But it really hurt and sometimes I got bruises from it.

My mom was always sewing, and she had this stupid thimble on her finger all the time...... she would rap me on the head with this thimble, every word was a rap on the head ...... "don't......ever.....do..... that .......again" was 5 raps with the thimble. It didn't really hurt, but it was humiliating.
Dad was more conventional, he would just beat us, kick us, the usual child abuse.
I am very against hitting children today, as a result. To me, spanking only teaches a child that big people hit little people.

Why do you want these details?

I was spanked, but I made a decision not to hit my children, and they have come out with far fewer problems than I had. They are cooperative, happy, successful teenagers and adults and no one hit them. You don't have to hit kids to raise them into good people.

WELL I WAS SPANKED WITH THE BELT. NO SPOON OR HAND. MY FATHER USE A BELT ON MY LEGS NEVER ON THE UPPER BODY. HE DID THIS 3 TIMES AND THAT WAS ENOUGH FOR ME NOT TO WANT TO EVER HAPPEND AGAIN. IT HURT BELIEVE ME IT DID.
