the odd terms in the series 5,7,10,14,... are forming a series where the difference in each successive term is increasing by 1, ie 2,3,4,etc.
the even terms, similarly, are forming a series where the difference in each successive term is also increasing by 1, ie 2,3,...

so the series will be

5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 19, 20, 25, 26, 32, 33, 40, 41, 49, 50... and so on!

5,6,7,8,10,11,14,18,

First four digits have difference of 1 between them and then there is a jump of 2. The next two digits are again with a difference of 1, then there is a jump of 3. The next digit is 14 and after that the next digit has to jump by 4. So, 18. We have no rule to proceed further.
