leaving things plugged in when not in use, such as a TV, stereo system, or even cell phone chargers.

A good slogan could be--pull the plug on chargers and pull the plug on pollution

Also light bulbs, you should change at least a few of them in your house from incandescent to fluorescent.

Did you know that if one light bulb was changed in every home in America that it would be the same as removing 1.3 million cars from the roads?

Try using Litter as a poullutant. We know that paper, metals, and plastics have a period of time before they even begin to deteriorate. What is the effect, in the environment, when such things are left or find their way into a forest, water, or lakes?
Our local community yearly goes to clean-up local waterways. Every year there are tires, plastic bottles, car parts (including cars), and debris of every sort imaginable. Pollution is anything damaging to the natural environment and litter is so often overlooked.
Contact your city and state recycling agency for information on the time it takes to break-down certain items such as newspapers, soda cans, etc. You will be shocked at the time these things can stay in nature and landfills. I would call this report something like the pollution made by our own hand.
I know that there have been studies done in landfills around New York City to check on the "decay" of material. Some material such as magazines, hot dogs, and tires were found intact fifty years later. Use actual everyday items on hand and mark them with the estimated time it would take for them to decompose. Good Luck.

Well, you could step away from the ecological side and look at noise pollution (construction sites, airports, loud car stereos, loud motorcycles, leaf blowers on a Sunday morning and on and on). The slogan could be something like "Did you hear the birds sing this morning?"

Or language pollution, attack the prevalence of the "F" word at school. The slogan could be "Shut the F up!"

Some ideas -
cows farting - truly this is a MAJOR source of methane gas which contributes to global warming. Here in Australia we are guilty of this problem, we have so many cows.
Algal bloom - that revolting smelly, dark green scum on the top of once lovely streams. Caused by lack of little frogs, pond weeds, fish etc that once oxygenated the water but which have been removed because of pollution. The algal bloom then itself becomes a source of pollution.
Live sheep trade - sheep poo into water, this happens a lot because the sheep on the ships are sea-sick and terrified. Why do Arab countries have to have live sheep, why not just use frozen meat? It's cruel to sheep.

Noise pollution is almost never discussed. I have a secretary that loves country music. Believe me when I say to you that just walking by her desk every day makes me think about the topic of noise pollution. One day when she calls in sick I'm going to put a Killswitch Engage or maybe an After Five Aprils CD in her caddy. That'll emphasize the point.

Noise pollution or light pollution.

Noise pollution is obvious, but light pollution is the amazing amount of light added to the dark sky at night that causes the stars to disappear from the night sky. You can really see the difference when you travel out to a desert, or as far away from city lights as you can possibly go. You can actually see the milky way cloud when you get away from city lights.

Electromagnetic pollution

Ever since the 40's when all there was, were radio waves, now we are subjected to Radio waves, TV waves, Cell phone waves, Micro-wave communication enery waves, Satellite energy waves, Wireless radio communication waves from, police, fire, taxi, trains, planes etc.

The planet is awash with electromagnetic energy of different strengths and wavelengths...If power lines are now recognized as a health concern for childhood Cancers, can the other stuff cause more cancer and brain tumors over time?

I don't know how much information you can find about it, or even the name, but perfume pollution.

Have you ever been in the wake of someone who bathed in cologne or perfume? I have allergies and some of these "chemical attacks" literally floor me! The smell can linger for a really long time, even after the offending person has moved their weapons of mass destruction to another room!

Good luck on your project.

Light pollution

In urban areas, only the brightest of stars can be seen due to the excess light that is produced by buildings, traffic signals, street lamps, etc.

I would guess a decent slogan would be "LIGHTS OUT!"

Good luck with your project.

Energy in wave state. That will cover light sound and all the stuff cell phones give off, radio TV broadcasts, and all the stuff satellite produce: plus the sun.
