How can I connect a laptop with Vista on it to the internet?

I am wanting to connect this laptop to a DSL connection... I have the network stuff all together... My provider is Earthlink and they have me connect through a DNS number on this compute... How can I connect it with Vist? It seems to work alot different than XP and I cannot figure out how to connect using the LAN line...

i use roadrunner, and all i had to do was plug in the network cable where it goes, and i use vista
