It is incredibly possible for the test that she took gave her a false negative. Go to a doctor or walk in clinic asap for a test. Good luck!

I have heard of people getting false negatives and false positives before. But I myself have also went through a psychological "pregnancy" and it just could be that she really wants to be pregnant and those symptoms are all in her mind. 3 weeks late--I can't see how a pregnancy test would not read that if she really was pregnant. Nowadays pregnancy tests are really acurate. You could always have her go to the doctor and let them do one and you will be absolutely sure whether she is or not. Periods do not always come regularly and pms can sometimes seem like pregnancy symptoms too.

Yes it is possible for the test to come up negative. Go to the hospital and get a blood test done. Sounds like she's pregnant to me.

Yes it is possible for a pregnancy test to show a false negative result ( never a false positive ). This is because the hormone that shows pregnancy isn't strong enough to show up in her urine yet. My advice if you are wanting to know quickly is to take her for a blood test as they show an absolute result. Good luck to you both : )

To be on the safe side I would suggest that she see her doctor. Some conditions like ectopic pregnancy (can be very dangerous) cause a woman to have such low levels of pregnancy hormones that they don't register on tests, or do so very faintly. Basically you want to rule out any medical condition.
Another hint is to take a pregnancy test first thing in the morning, when hormone levels are at their highest.

hello,
it is possible to take a preg test and get a false negative. The tests guage the amount of HCG hormones in the urine. These levels double everyday pf pregnancy but levels vary in every woman. I found the following info really helpful:
Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :
3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal: <9.5 mIU/ml
To get a positive test, levels should be above 25mIU/ml.

It is very possible that the test was incorrect, if she goes to her OBGYN they can do a blood test that is much more accurate and will show if she is in fact pregnant. Good luck and congratulations if she is!

Could be possible some women even bleed when they are pregnant. I would definately have her go see her gyn. and have a blood test done. She could also have other factors causing this so it would be best that she see the gyn. anyways.
