I haven't stayed there, but I know all about it. It's for the Year Of A Million Dreams Celebration. You could win the Disney Dreams Giveaway. One of the many prizes is the stay in Cinderella Castle for one night. (The night you win.) You can be anywhere in one of the four theme parks. You have to be at the right place at the right time. The computer chooses when and where. If you win, a cast member will come up to you and tell you. To win the stay in the castle you have to be staying on Disney property. You can't pay to stay there. You have to win. I don't know where the travel channel got that. Hope this helps.

As of right now they are not taking reservations to stay there. The only people who have been granted the chance to stay in the castle have been people who won the opportunity thus far.
I am not sure why travel channel stated differently. Perhaps in the future they will be able to stay in the castle but as of right now, reserving a stay there is not an option.

They only allow people to stay there on special occassions. I have been in Orlando for 3 three years and I only know of one family that stayed there and they won the opportunity
