The American Goverment cannot be trusted because the American people cannot be trusted. One step in correcting this problem would be to change the political system to a coalition goverment, thereby dividing the power and forming alliances that would keep the opposing sides in check. It would also end our dependence on lobying if we followed some of western europes examples of coalition goverments. There is always some room for corruption but this form seems to make the best sense.

I don't think any government can be completely trusted. As for our current government, I believe nothing.

Well as long as you have Bush in power and his supporters
either denying or defending his abuse of power,America and Americans will continue its down slide into the great unknown !
The test will come in 2008 and I have faith Americans will realize our greatest enemy was fear and the one we put in the
white house !
