No it would not be hypocritical because in his autobiography he writes " I did marijuana whenever I could and cocaine whenever I had the money".

No, no, wait a minute. I'm sorry you have your question phrased right. Now, what you are trying to say is he should legalize it because he has been a drug user in the past. Yes, I agree with you. I hope the other answerers review this and see that THEY read your question wrong!

That would be like suggesting a cop shouldn't arrest a drug dealer merely because the cop had used drugs in the past.

Your question doesn't make sense. The president can't legalize drugs. He's not a king, or a dictator. Congress would have to pass a bill legalizing drugs, then the president would have to sign it.

Do you know how many Democratic small businessmen he'd put out of business if he legalized Drugs? They'd be repossessing Escalades all over the place.

I, for one, am quite impressed by his admission and honesty. And the fact that he has done drugs in the past makes him a little more real for me. I think you need to start looking at his policies and stands on issues if you want to discredit him...because the drugs thing is just ridiculous. Far more people of his generation used drugs than didn't...and I would suggest that if you use that as an exclusionary criteria...you won't have much to choose from...

Yeah think of all the taxes he could get from legalizing drugs.

He was a cokehead and a pothead, but I don't think he will be our next President. I don't think he stands a chance. (Thank God!)

Why would he be hypocritical? What evidence do you have? Cite your resource? I know, you've been listening to conservative hate radio again.

Your boy Dubya was a druggie and he didn't push to legalize drugs. Does that make him a hypocrite? One would certainly think so?
