Dwarf Hamsters must be good swimmers. ROFLMAO!!!!!
you posted in the fish section so I had to say it. lol
Seriously though, The male hamster should have been removed before the birth of the baby's because he will try to kill them so the female can mate again.
Keep him away from mom and the kids for at least six weeks, or until the baby's have there fur, open eyes, and are moving around well enough to escape if Dad attacks.

My sister and me have dwarf hamsters and they had 6 babies, we removed the father once or even before the babies are born because he might eat them(but thats just what we did) . If the mother is stressed or if you touch the babies and they get your scent on them or if the baby or babies are sick, the mom will eat them. Keep the cage in a calm place and make sure she has plenty of food and water.
(heres what i got from the internet.) If you want to do this, it is best to buy a mixed sex pair of hamsters from the same litter and keep them together from day one. When you have a mixed sex pair, it is almost certain that they will breed, and you will only have to provide the right conditions for the mother (lots of quiet and plenty of food), and find good homes for the babies once they are old enough. Dwarf hamsters are pregnant for 18-20 days, Roborovskis a few days longer than this, and once they have given birth, you should not disturb the cage for 14 days - not even to clean it out, as the mother may kill or abandon her brood. The father should be left in with the mother and the litter, as it is known for him to help rear the young. The young can be separated from the mother at 21 days of age, and are old enough to re-home at 6 weeks. If you decide you no longer want to breed the hamsters, you can leave a daughter in with the mother, and move the father and a son to a new cage.
everything will be ok without the father. ^_^

Once the babies are born you need to separate the parents.
He'll might eat the babies, that's why she is protecting the nest. If the hamsters are healthy the mother will be fine with them, if not she'll kill them by burying them. The father will be fine by himself as long as he has supplies. Remember if you put them together you might have Hamsters again in a few weeks. If you don't they'll reproduce fairly quickly. Just make sure that you'll see the babies every day so you can check up if they're all still alive.

You need to remove the male hamster from the rest of the family. The dad will end up killing the babies. And it can happen with dwarf hamsters. Get him out of there before one of your babys gets hurt.

that was normal activity. Basically dad doesn't get to sleep in his bed anymore -which has put him off- mom was being overprotective. He would have got the message and would have moved farther. Maybe the container you had all of them in was too small and he had no place to run to.-she still considered him too close. As for being some "type", that doesn't matter. The fighting would have happened with all.
Look for a bigger home for the lot.

Keep daddy away from mom and babies until the babies get bigger otherwise dad will eat them. Also try not to bother mom and babies too much. If you are constantly putting your hands in by them, mom might sense danger and put them in her pouch and not knowingly kill them because she won't take them out until she feels that everything is ok.
