Basically a basketball shoe has almost no traction and a running shoe does. The basketball shoe also has a higher ankle cloth to support the ankle better on the court. The running shoe has a lower ankle cloth and thicker soles.
Thanks!

i think the difference between the basketball shoes and the running shoes is simple. The basketball shoes is made of high heels so that to help and support the players to jump higher, but the running shoes is made up of low heels and not of high heels

basketball shoes have grooves in the bottom to get grip on a court and running shoes arent as smooth on the bottom and kinda have like spikes almost to get better grip. Running shoes most of the time only come below your ankles and most basketball shoes come above the ankles to give your ankles suppot to prevent injuries and running shoes ar lighter.

Basketball shoes are high tops. They support the ankles.
Running shoes are low tops. A good running shoe needs good arch support, good soles, good inserts.
