There are, like, 50 million "Irish" bars in Chicago, some authentic, some "faux Irish" (slap some fake Irish name over the door like Tipsy O'Boozer, put a few shamrocks and flags on the wall and voila!). The ones that have the best rep from what I've heard from REAL Irish people I know who come here to work during the summer are: The Irish Oak (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/holiday/stpatricks/32766,0,7061607.venue?coll=mmx-home_top_hedsh2o), Kitty O'Sheas (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/holiday/stpatricks/26008,0,5750879.venue?coll=mmx-home_top_hedsh2o), which, becasuse it's on Michigan Ave. not too far from the parade route will be PACKED, Cullens on Southport (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/barsandclubs/28126,0,1418266.venue?coll=mmx-bars_top_promo) and Fado (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/barsandclubs/29244,0,2008092.venue).
