I want to know the temperature of compression(ignition), the temperature in the burning process in a combustion chamber and the temperature of the exhaust gases for a Diesel engine, respectively for a gasoline engine. Thks

(of course they vary, i want a resonable intrerval nothing too precise)

at 120psi compression will yield about 300*F.(gas engine). 480psi compression gets you over 1,000*F.(diesel engine). all carbon based fuels will auto ignite around 450*F so you can see why a diesel doesn't need spark plugs. as for egt gas engines run about 1,200*F. diesels about 900*F. and will produce smoke around 1,100*F.
