My husband told me he wanted a divorce about 4 months ago since then I have played and won the lottery. I have no claimed my winnings yet in fact they are still wait on someone to come forward with winning ticket.......should I tell my hisband that I have won or should I just let him leave without knowing a thing about it? I feel if I told him and he somehow stayed with me it would only be because of the money. What should I do?

before anything, do you love him? ask him if he still wants the divorce. even after the divorce he might still be able to lay claim to half the winnings due to the fact the ticket was bought when you two were still as one.

Best bet for you would be to give the ticket to a good friend that you trust fully and cash it in before it expires. Then let him divorce you and then you will have a nice nest egg to start over with, otherwise it could become a marital asset and in divorce court youd have to split the winnings with him. Now if you keep the ticket and cash it after the divorce he can still bring you back to court on fraud charges and lose alot more. Chances are your right, hed only stay around til the money ran out and he got what he wanted and then would divorce you anyway. The biggest thing here is for you not to get caught holding that ticket while facing divorce court unless youre willing to share with him. Hope this makes sense and good luck

If that happened to me I would give the ticket to my sister (who I trust with anything). Have her claim the ticket and then give you the money - minus the taxes. If he wants to divorce you, let him. He has no right to expect anything from you after he said he wanted a divorce.

OK he wants out tell him to go ahead and leave, now and get it over with so you can get on with your life, after he is gone go get your money I dont believe in divorce, but he has already told you he wants out and you sure dont want him to stay for the money. good luck
