I started out using S26, it caused my boy to become consitpated, so I swiched to NAN and he stopped becoming consitpated. I think any type of formula can cause consitpation it all depends on how well the baby takes to it.

All formula can cause constipation. My daughter is on hypoallergenic soy and lactose free formula and does occasionally get constipated. (I think it's related to the iron in it) the best remedy for it (according to our doctor) is to give the baby a little bit of juice. I just mix 1/2 apple juice and 1/2 water either in a bottle or sippy cup for my little girl and give her about 2-4 ounces of it on days when she's constipated. Hope this helps!

When my daughter was born (in a foreign country in Asia) I first gave her an expensive brand called Maranaga Formula and then later switched her to Nestle Good Start. She was on that until six months of age and then I had to again switch her to soy formula because she was constipated. Don't be afraid to try them out in order to get it right! Its not worth the tummy aches and sleepless nights!
