Emotional yes. She really fell in love with Desi and that was very real. He had a big problem with her popularity. He was not a successful as she was in the business and that led to problems as well. The I love lucy show that is still on tv in reruns was only put on the air because of her popularity with the public. The television industry was very reluctant to give the show a chance, but they were wrong.

Hmmmm, "I Love Lucy" is on TV Land even as I type this. I have to have my "I Love Lucy" fix every day.

I had read once that they had physical fights over his being somewhat of a womanizer, but I also read that even after they divorced they spoke to each other every day by phone until his death.

In any case, I will be forever grateful that the Desilu Studios took on the first "Star Trek" show. What an incredible stroke of genius and fortune that turned out to be!!!
