When Tiger Woods won the Masters in 1997, she was almost celebrating with him on the show as if to say we did it(we beat the white people).

For me the confirmation of her hidden racism was when she endorsed Barack Obama for president. Would she have endorsed him if he was white. Anyone with a grain of common sense can she is a racist. Unfortunately too many blind white women follow love her anyway.

The only difference between her and the black racist athletes, comediens and raps stars is that Oprah is intelligent and educated and never uses the word n******r. However I think her racism is more sinister and dangerous because she is the richest and most powerful racist black celebrity. If she says vote for Obama, millions of sheep will obey her command.

Oprah Winfrey is one of the greatest rags to riches story of all time. She overcame poverty, illegitimacy, horrendous sexual and emotional abuse, obesity, a drug habit, teen pregnancy, racism & sexism, to become the world's richest black and also the world's most influential woman. In addition she has a lover who stands over 6'6", a charismatic best friend she goes on wild road trips with, 150 African daughters who love her as the mother they never had, and tens of millions of hysterical screaming fans. I think she knows a bit more about the secret of success than some bitter blowhard who is unhappy she promotes a politician he doesn’t care for.

I must also add, I stopped taking you seriously when you threw in the Islamic bit. As a Muslim woman I have often wondered why women of Islam are not given the acknowledgement given to so many other races. She has had a few smashingly lovely Muslimahs on lately, but certainly not enough to be called overly supportive of us. Except in the eyes of a Islamophobe. If ever there was a racist moment on her show, believe me, I would have called it.

The woman has been one of the most inspirational women of the century. As a human being she is proof of the powerful spirit of a survivor. She speaks as candidly of everything. Of course she celebrates her race, she is a black woman who has risen, against the odds, to a position of power and influence. If I were in her boots, I would too!

Yes I am a fan. I also see a few inconsistencies. For example, I would like to see her do something for the young boys of Africa. Her work with the girls is amazing. I would rather it was both sexes. I see a message there that boys are not of equal value in Africa. But do I slam her for sexism? No, I figure she is doing what is right and hope some male will come along and match her dollar for dollar to the girls. Let some prominent black male .. or white male.. step up to the plate! There are some pretty rich athletes and entertainers out there.

I have problems with her politics. I don't trust Obama yet because no one knows him really and he has already done a few flip-flops. Be even more concerned about the danger of her embracing Arnold Swartzenegger because I have serious political concerns about the man who would be Dictator of America in the Fourth Reich. However he is a representative of the "Master Aryan Race" (considering his upbringing). That is hardly racist kiddo. See beyond melanin count. In a country of white entertainers it is only natural for her to celebrate the successes of her own race. Someone should do it. Are you just miffed cos you never got a pair of diamond earrings? Personally, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that gala.

No one can deny her love of humanity and huwomanity! Her work with Lisa Ling the Oriental journalist is always hard hitting and eye opening. Her stories and bravery are celebrated and studied in detail. She never fails to open our eyes to something new. Is she the token Oriental?

Oprah also encourages and puts her money where her mouth is. She has done a lot towards putting child rapists in jail. She has given a lot towards the victims of Katrina and celebrated the work of others who have as well. Her show on Jon Bon Jovi brought tears to my eyes. He is brown? Or is he a "token white hunk to attract the sheep older women?" That is how you might put it. Did I rush out to buy his new cd because she endorsed it? No. I just developed a deep respect for a decent man. And it is true, the Illuminati have pretty well written New Orleans off. The truth is that, as hard as the people of America have tried to help, elitism did play a part in the rescue attempts.

There are not enough positive black female forces in America for young girls to aspire to. They are involved in a cultural genocide that has taken specific aim at the black family with devastating results. What most of these girls see in their daily lives is far from Oprah. She fulfills a need to show them decency and success. She teaches them that generosity is good. That success also means generosity. I applaud your bravery to come out and state your case. However, I do think you are deeply off the mark.

The spiritual new age claptrap she espouses is rather dangerous and bothers me no end. The main idea of "The Secret" is that one need only visualize what they want in order to get it. It certainly has created instant wealth for the author and her partners. And the marketing idea behind it -- the enlisting of that dream team, in what is essentially a massive, cross-promotional pyramid scheme -- is brilliant. Oprah’s involvement lends the whole enterprise more prestige, and, because of that prestige, more venality, than most self-help scams. Oprah hasn't just endorsed "The Secret"; she's championed it.

Apparently, "the energy you put into the world -- both good and bad -- is exactly what comes back to you. I am sorry but this sounds a bit too much like “instant karma’ and those of us who understand karma know that often it takes its sweet time in being felt. It is NOT instantaneous. This “secret” says you create the circumstances of your life with the choices you make every day." "Venality," because Oprah, in the age of AIDS, is advertising a book that says, "You cannot 'catch' anything unless you think you can, and thinking you can is inviting it to you with your thought." "Venality," because the book says, "The only reason any person does not have enough money is because they are blocking money from coming to them with their thoughts."

This attitude completely ignores the situations of horror on the planet. The poor women of Afghanistan and Iraq, the suffering naïve young soldiers sent off to kill, the sufferers of genocide around the globe, the victims of war, those born drug or alcohol addicted, those who have lost everything to the deterioration of middle class America by a callous government with a hard agenda, do not “choose” or create these horrendous facts in their lives. Did the world “choose” the Great Depression or WW1 or 2? No, these were thrust upon it by a few not the whole, who lost so much.

"When I discovered 'The Secret' I made a decision that I would not watch the news or read newspapers anymore, because it did not make me feel good," and, "How
does it work? Nobody knows. Just like nobody knows how electricity works. I don't, do you?" And worst of all is the craven consumerist worldview at the heart of "The Secret," because it's why the book exists: "[The Secret] is like having the Universe as your catalogue. You flip through it and say, 'I'd like to have this experience and I'd like to have that product and I'd like to have a person like that.' It is you placing your order with the Universe. It's really that easy." That's from Dr. Joe Vitale, former Amway executive and contributor to "The Secret.”

Oprah has a reputation for doing good -- she probably has more perceived moral authority than anyone in this country -- and she has done a lot of good. But in light of her zealous support of a book that says, in this time of entrenched, systemic, institutionalized poverty, this time of no-bid contracts for war profiteers and heckuva-job reasonable to ask about why she does what she does, and the way she does it? Open up your eyes honey. Colour aint' the issue. The espousal of the oldest spiritual trick in the book, that of visualization, has been cheapened. But this is not the ultimate evil on the planet kiddo.

So face it, you just have a problem with Obama. Not Oprah.
She ain’t perfect, but she is a damn fine woman. Can you say you have done as much good for the world as she? When you can, then you can complain.

Hmmm... Interesting hypothesis. You may be right - maybe Oprah is a racist ( you don't have to put black in front of it my the way, its still racism even if its against white people). However, you've said absolutely nothing in your above rant to convince anyone who's intelligent that your point of view has any validity.

First - so what if she celebrated with Tiger Woods - um, I may be going out on a limb here, but I imagine ANYONE who invited him on his/her show, after he won the masters, might celebrate and be excited for him. Its called public relations/TV/what real people do.

Furthermore, there are many, many people who support Obama, its not just Oprah. What does his race have to do with anything? Obama has a lot going for him, which may or may not get him to the presidency, but good god! To assume that because Oprah supports Obama she's a racist?

Please tell me that someone else sees how ridiculous that conclusion is!

Maybe Oprah is a racist, but you certainly haven't proven it here.

I have no idea of how Oprah is racist, look at her staff, look at her magazine, the majority of people that she has surrounded herself with are white. Just because she's happy for her own doesn't mean she's a racist, and if she really were a racist she wouldn't celebrate Tiger or endorse Obama, because racists hate mixed people! You seem to be racist, jealous that a black woman is doing better in life than you ever will.
Actually I don't like Oprah, she seems to look for white approval too much.

Have you watched oprah, do you know anythin about oprah? if she was racist she wouldnt hide it first of all, she has no reason to. Not only is her audience white but most of her guests are white as well. And dont tell me its because they make her money because she doesnt need it! Shes the only self made woman billionaire in the US so get a grip and stop trying to take away from oprah.

I really can't answer her personal race view, has anyone ever interviewed her and asked? If so, I think she is intelligent enough to dance around an answer. How you find out is see where all her corporations charity money goes to. For example, if a black celebrity supports the ***** college fund only, is that not a racist? If they only fund African aid and no others in the world, are they not racists? If Jews only support other Jewish organizations, are they not racists? You seldom see Jews supporting Christian organizations, yet on tv you see infomercials wanting their Christian brothers to support starving Jews. So I guess it depends on your personal view. It's interesting that if you are a black person in Africa, you are for example just a Nigerian, but if you are an American, you have to be a Black American. On the credit applications I must submit if the applicant is black, native American, Asian descent. Your federal dollars at work.

Son, the very fact that you're bashing here makes you look more insecure and yes, racist than any of those awful black people you prefer to degrade. You seem very jealous and paranoid of any successes made by non-white people. To be unashamed of ones people or culture is not racist. That is just satisfaction. White people own, run and ruin this country at will, That is total control, across the board. Just because another subculture embraces, promotes and supports its own, as Caucasians have done for hundreds of years, does not make them racist.

dude i disagree, oprah is one of the very very few black women that can be modeled.
She is a good influence and one of her best friends (rachael ray) is white.
She endorsed rachael ray, mariah carey what more do you want.
I would waste my time arguing about oprah on the internet she makes black women educated, us asians model her.
And if you even for a second think she is someone thats racist and not a good rolemodel, well buddy meet the following women look them up and you will see why said oprah is one of the very very FEW great black rolemodels.
These are the women that make their race look bad
1. whiney houston
2. beyonce
3. rap video girls
4. destiny child
5. tyra banks
6. cassie
7. all the ladies from dreamgirls
8. Rihana
9. female rappers

oprah is telling america
" Hi america this is not what black women are, im not like this and many other black women aren't either."
So if you are going to make threads about oprah being raicist and hurting america, remember to post stuff about those 9 examples i listed because they hurt american culture

Maybe she should send some sheep after you! Your ignorance and racism knows no bounds. It is only parralled by your abundant stupidity. Oprah is not a racist! She's given of herself freely to all races. You didn't complain when she was giving away cars to white women. Why now? She's a billionaire and you are scraping by on booze and hatred. That's what's really eating you! The fact that she's Black and a Woman must have you howling at the moon! I am a Black Man and I'm glad that all White People don't think like you. You need to take a love break! For real!

Oprah is a strong, intuitive, genuine person. Obviously you must feel a lot of resentment and jealousy over her success. She is not a racism whatsoever but a female who helps to empower other women and those groups who would normally feeling marginalization and oppression. Look at the great things she has done altruistically for others.
You should rethink your question as you sound like you may be suffering from paranoia.

Oprah is not a racist. What is wrong with being proud of your race when in the past your race has been put down and treated as less than human. I've never heard Oprah once say that she hated Whites, Hispanics,Asians, or any other race. Oprah has many friends who are different races. It's you who perceives her as racist and thank goodness you're in the minority with your thoughts.
