my sister and i are planning on buying bicycles so we can lose a bit of weight, we plan to go out on them every other day for an hour. roughly how much weight would we lose in a period of about a month? our average weight is 16 stone or 224 pounds. also, we both suffer from hypothyroidism which may affect the amount we are able to lose
thanks!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

i dont know specifically, but most people try to lose about 3 pounds per wseek to start and then 2 each week after, but i think this should be ok for hour bike riding, although io understand the hyperthyroidism, if its being treated, i dont think should make too much difference, best think would be to ask the doctor about it

good luck with it, im trying to lose weight to and it is a battle but believe me it is worth it in the end!! jsut remind yourself how good you will feel after and just think how much fitter you will feel, just running up the stairs to bed with no real reason, little things like that will hopefuly spur you into gear

if you get bored an hour cycing, try doing a more intense cycling for 20 mins instead, both have advantages and disadvantages

also dont be too disheartened if straight off you dont lose that much weight, originally, you will be buiding up muscle in stead of losing fat and because the muscle weighs 3 times more face, you may even put on weight at the start, but after it should come dropping off.

once again good luck and try to stay with it!! x x x

Things will depend on how much calorie you allow to enter your body in comparison with the loss. Consider your body to be an overhead tank : If your intake is more than expenditure, you will overflow with extra weight. If expenditure is more than input, you will loose weight. A concerted and conscious effort with a periodic [say monthly] recording of body weight at the same time and reasonably similar condition, will guide you better than any one else.

Good idea of losing weight...but don't just think riding bicycles will get rid of the weight. You have to be more comitted to it. Don't just depend on the bicycle. Do your part...watch what u eat ....and how much of it u eat. Make small goals for yourself so u don't get board of losing weight. I can't tell u how much u'll lose.....cuz im not sure what u'll be eating that month. If riding doesn't do much help...consult a weight loss program they'll do some good too. Good luck on losing weight :)
