I am currently ordering 17x8 rims and wondering what tires will fit the best.
Size: 235/45HR17
or 225/45HR17

Wanting to get same size for all 4 rims.

Either size fits the rims, but without telling us what these rims are going on it is absolutely impossible to tell you if either of these is even appropriate for the application.

Need more data.

Either size will fit the same on the rims you mentioned, they are both 17s. You fit tires more to a vehicle not so much the rim.

225 is a little lower than the 235.the tires may not clear with the 235 but if they do then go with the 235.

All depends on the vehicle, steering arms, wheel well clearance, etc! Check the door tag and see what the manufacturer suggest! Most shops won't put anything other than manufacturer suggested on due to "lawsuits"!

If you know someone with a similar size tire, try it on the front and see if the wheel will turn without hitting something.
