I'm wondering how often a faint line turns into a darker more positive result. I would normally expect my period by Tuesday.

The test is reading positive, yes. Congrats! According to the HPT you are pregnant. The rule with HPT is a line is a line (no matter how faint it is). It may get darker soon and it may not. With my first daughter, both lines were there and dark before I could finish peeing, lol. With this baby, it was faint everytime I took one, even a week apart.

The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

Usually you're not supposed to take a test until AFTER you're overdue for your period but oh well. All the same. It sounds like you're going to be a mommy. A faint positive line is still a positive line. You're most likely pregnant

The same thing happened to me i took 2 and both of mine came out positive with faint lines, im now 2 mnths late for my period. I think if its a faint line and you can see it w/o straining then congrats you're going to be a mommy. Good luck and i hope you get what you want!!!!

You can try another one in 48 hours. The hcg levels double in that time period (in the beginning) so it should pick it up better. Although the line may still look faint to you. Either way two lines is prego! faint or not. Congratulations!

usually any line in the positive box indicates pregnancy. it's just faint because you hormone levels are still low.

if its a faint pos. i would make an appt with your doctor to confirm this with a blood test. also after 10 mins the test results can change so i wouldnt go by it after 10 mins.
