His is an African American male who i saw on vacation in St. Thomas. We asked people at the hotel who he was [because he definitly was a football player, we could tell by his build] and we only got 2 responses. One person said "that's Mr. Cheetum" and the other said "That's Mr. Cheddum".
Then, he sat in front of us on the plane ride home. Here is all I know:
He flew into Newark/Liberty airport in New Jersey, so maybe he plays for the Jets or the Giants
His wife's name is Toni.
He has 4 kids, all boys. One's name is Jayden, another's name is Tyler.
It had to be a football player bc baseball and basketball are in season right now, i dont think a playyer could afford to take a weeks vacation.
please help solve this mystery its killing me!!

Also, and I'm not 100% sure on this, I think his wife might have called him "Keith".

His name is Dave Cheetum and He playes for the NY Giants. He is a line man. :)

If you are that curious, do some detective work. Take some of the names that people gave you here, and especially the last name that you got, Dave Cheetum, and look them up on the internet. See if any of them have (4) kids; all boys, one named Jayden and the other named Tyler. Look at photos of the Jets, Giants, New York's Arena Football team. If you do not see him there, check out the Knicks and Nets, all of the local soccer teams, etc. For example, if he went to St. Thomas, he could have a British background, and may play soccer?!?
Another idea is to do a search on Dave or Keith and Toni Cheetum as a couple. Maybe you'll find them together in a social situation. Or try Toni alone because you seem to be more sure of her name! Keep trying different spellings, and different combos. Maybe he is a former player who has kept himself in good shape, and works in an executive position for one of the teams. There you could look at photos of team executives, etc. When you asked people in the hotel his name, and they vaguely told you Mr. Cheetum or Cheddum, why did you not query them any further, or ask the stewardesses?
I once had this happen with a famous rock star, where I listened to his phone conversations for about a half hour while we waited to board our plane. I knew he was very famous, but could not place who he was. After looking on the internet, armed with some of the info I had gotten from my "spying", I found his picture with the same type of outfit he wore in the airport. Email me if you want to know who it was!! Just kidding, it was Lenny Kravitz! He is one of those people who always looks kind of "different," never quite looking the same each and every time, unlike for example, John Wayne.
Anyway, good luck! I know how frustrating this can be!

There are 4 NFL players with a last name similar to what you think you heard, but one of them is a white dude.
Kory Chapman - RB Colts
Antonio Chatman - WR Bengals
Jesse Chatman - RB Dolphins
None of those players is any good though, so I can't imagine that people would be able to point them out like that. And the second two are only 5 foot 8, and the first on 6 foot 1, so I don't really think anyone would look at them and immediately think, "That guy must play football." The first guy is a pretty normal weight for his size, so though he may be in shape, I don't think he really is going to look much like a football player without a doubt. The second guy not only is short, but also skinny, so I don't think that's your man either. The last guy is short and weighs 245 pounds, so MAYBE him. Of course none of those guys are named Keith, and no player in the nfl named Keith has a last name that sounds anything like the one you think you heard.
My guess is that you saw some guy who happened to be known at the hotel. Perhaps he was some kind of big time business man, and similar to many people like that with type a personalities, he works out really hard and so he looks like an athlete. Or maybe he's some other kind of celebrity, such as an actor or something.
Or maybe he was nobody and you just saw some random guy, which honestly is my best guess.

Wow! So how do you know all of this information without actually talking to him?
It sounds to me as if he does play for the Jets. I may have heard his name before. I think he's a defensive back. I'm not positive so google it.

I agree with the guy Jimi L but I looked up the players he listed and they're all african american. None of them are white.

Keep in mind that he may not have used his real name, and flying into New York is likelier to mean that he LIVES there rather than works there, or it means nothing at all.
